I vividly remember waiting for the midnight screening for Prometheus. I was nearly sick with excitement. The marketing campaign sold me on it being a prequel I'd been dreaming of for years.

I still go back and watch the trailers from time to time, trying to remember my sweetly naïve anticipation going in, and not the total dejection I felt coming out.
